On Nov. 19th and 20th, 2007, the JPPS Children's Centre held its second annual Art Vernissage fundraiser to raise money for The Mack Belson Foundation. Once again, the teachers and children spent weeks working on art projects, creating pieces such as Fabrage eggs and African masks and recreating works in the genre of Jackson Pollack, Kandinsky and Andy Warhol, to name a few. Parents were able to buy their children's artwork on and we are very pleased to announce that over $1600 was raised. A painting by Lenora Davis Mendelman, Mack's grandmother, was donated for a silent auction.
The Mack Belson Foundation would like to sincerely thank the teachers: Karine, Nourit, Cheryl, Etti, Rhonda, Raquel, Susan L., Cathy, Candice, Susan, Debbie, Stuart, Arnona, Annie and all the children who worked so hard to make this fundraiser such a success. We would also like to thank all the parents for their generous donations. A special thank you is extended to Randy Zucker and Nancy Fhima for their unwavering support and commitment to Mack's foundation and for honouring our 'smiley boy'.
