"To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark." - Victor Hugo
The Mack Belson Reading Camp is an intensive three week summer reading program with the main goal of helping students acquire appropriate grade level reading skills. With our award winning educator Aviva Segal at the helm, this wonderful program has been helping children of all ages with reading difficulties. This program instills an amazing sense of accomplishment and self worth in these children as they finish the session as true, bonafide 'readers'! Along with the sheer delight of these children as they sound out words is the testimonials of grateful parents which is just another indication that we are providing a much needed service in our community.
Early intervention and prevention supports all students, especially those most 'at risk' as they embark on their path towards a successful academic experience. The members of The Mack Belson Reading Camp look forward to the future as we plan new and exciting ways to ensure the academic success of all students. Our goal is to grow this program but we need your help. We will continue our fundraising efforts so we can expand the services offered and help as many children as possible.
